The Abbot Kinney Festival Association is a 501(c)(3), a grant-making organization, that supports community-based organizations in Venice with an emphasis on youth, community, and the arts.
The Festival is their biggest fundraiser of the year, drawing crowds over 100,000 to the most iconic
street in Venice. The Association proves that you can have fun bringing the community together
while giving back at the same time.

Ellis explains, “The AK Fest means so much to the local community. It’s like our very own Birthday, Thanksgiving, Christmas and July 4th rolled into one. My wife and I actually arrived from Australia in Venice the day of the AK Fest back in 2005, and its one of the reasons why we decided to stay on and
try it out. The community welcomed us with open arms and invited us into their lives, and we never
really looked back”.

“Venice is home to hundreds of incredibly talented musicians and the Abbot Kinney Festival is the
perfect place to showcase that local talent. After all, I feel it’s really important not to forget what
made Venice so desirable and unique in the first place, it’s rich community and art history.”

The launch of the “Locals” stage in 2014 was a huge success. Centrally located within the Festival,
the stage served as a meeting point for so many, as friends old and new gathered for every act.
2018 is set to continue the 5-year tradition of promoting a stellar line-up of Venice based Singer/Songwriters, Bands, DJ Bright Moments and the Spirit of Venice Award Ceremony.

The 33rd Annual Abbot Kinney Festival kicks off at 10am on Sunday, September 30th.
Entry is free and open to all ages. More information is available online at www.abbotkinney.org.
